Columbia, MD — Coda Solutions Corporation, a leader in systems engineering and research for government and defense, today announced plans to establish an Energy Systems Test Laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, scheduled to open in 2026. The facility will expand Coda’s research and prototyping capabilities in advanced power and energy systems, supporting both technology development and government decision-making.
The Energy Systems Test Laboratory will serve as a dedicated environment to build on the company’s ongoing work in energy materials, catalytic systems, and advanced fuel and energy storage technologies. It will serve as a dedicated environment for research, analysis, and systems integration focused on synthetic fuels, electrochemical batteries, and advanced materials development.
Planned resources for the laboratory include comprehensive analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy, and materials testing capabilities, supporting end-to-end assessment from molecular-level chemical identification to full systems-level performance characterization. Coda’s new capabilities will enable government and industry partners to accelerate prototype validation, reduce acquisition risk, and enhance readiness in energy technologies that underpin next-generation defense and aerospace systems.
The facility will be operated under the company’s Energy Systems Division, led by Daniel Mayes, Coda’s chief engineer for energy systems. The new lab will complement Coda’s headquarters office in Columbia, Maryland.
